We firmly believe that every Jewish family should be able to provide an exceptional Jewish education for their children regardless of finances, and we work with each family to reach that goal. We provide information and guide parents through the application process for external scholarships and opportunities. ZJA also provides need-based institutional scholarships. Please see our tuition resources page for more information.

Zucker Jewish Academy has a sharp-looking school uniform for grades K-12, available for purchase from our collection on Land’s End. We also have adorable and comfortable preschool uniform tees for our youngest students.

Absolutely! ZJA is a place in which diverse Jewish families can become friends. Our warm and welcoming school community encourages a mutual respect that is not dependent on levels of observance or nationality. We are proud to say that each Jewish child, regardless of prior knowledge or background, feels comfortable and accepted in the Zucker family.

Our preschool has limited spots available in our infant (6 weeks – 9 months), baby (10 – 17 months), and toddler classes. Please register in advance to avoid being placed on a waiting list.

These enriching disciplines are seamlessly integrated into each class schedule. Depending on grade level, Zucker students enjoy daily and weekly extracurricular experiences, with the assistance of our terrific physical education, music, technology, art, and library staff.

Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff. We understand the absolute importance of a robust and multilayered security system. Accordingly, Zucker Jewish Academy boasts many levels of security within the facility, complemented by 24/7 external monitoring, a cutting-edge alarm system, and the multiple experienced security personnel on staff.

Our Zucker parents are our best advocates! This warm and vibrant community of young families includes a wide range of backgrounds in Jewish observance, nationalities, and socioeconomic status. We actively work with our parents to ensure that we are providing the best possible Jewish education to our students.

While we do offer limited rolling admissions based on availability, we strongly encourage parents to apply during our open enrollment period of October-January for the following academic year.

Since space is limited, especially in our preschool classrooms, where our student-teacher ratio is kept very low, you may be placed on a waitlist if spots are full. You will be contacted if a spot becomes available for your child or if we create a new parallel class.

Yes, parents may send in their own kosher, pareve or dairy lunch. Our school is nut-free.

We communicate with parents on multiple levels.

  • Elementary school classes use the ClassDojo app to communicate with parents via photos, announcements, points, and class stories.
  • Preschool classes use the Brightwheel app to keep parents updated on their child’s daily schedule, including live updates regarding naps, feeding, and changes. Teachers can share photos and videos, learning accomplishments and developmental milestones with parents.
  • All students receive a full-color printed weekly newsletter with photos, updates, and fun extras sent home with them each Friday.
  • The school WhatsApp community is a place where parents can receive information about events, reminders, and digital versions of our newsletter.

ZJA’s overall staff to student ratio is about 4:1.

In the infant/baby room, the staff to child ratio is at most 3:1.

Yes! We are pleased to utilize a broad range of language learning tools, so that even if a child is unfamiliar with speaking, reading, or writing Hebrew, he/she will experience many opportunities to learn Hebrew by osmosis and in formal instruction.

The learning experience begins with our very youngest students, who enjoy songs and stories in Hebrew, and continues with our toddlers, who learn to recognize the alef-bet alongside their alphabet, colors, shapes, and numbers.

Our grade school students learn to read and write in Hebrew (print and script) and use those skills in their Torah classes. They enjoy singing Tefillah (prayers) and songs for the Chagim (Jewish Holidays).

Many of our incredible team of staff are native Hebrew speakers who seamlessly integrate Hebrew learning into the daily routine. Our school library also boasts a robust collection of books in Hebrew.

All of our preschool teachers are licensed and certified to provide early childhood education with the Nevada Department of Education.

Our K-12 teaching staff hold at least one bachelor’s degree. Many of our staff also hold graduate degrees.

Our school is nut-free, including peanuts and tree nuts. Some individual classes are sesame-free.

If a child has a severe allergy to a specific food, parents can work with the school nurse to develop a safety plan. If your child has an epinephrine injection pen, we can work with parents to train staff in administration of the medication in case of emergency.
